The Boxer is one of the most exuberantly joyful breeds in the dog world β a powerful, athletic dog that retains a puppy-like playfulness and enthusiasm throughout its life. Developed in Germany from the old Bullenbeisser and English Bulldogs, the Boxer was originally used for hunting, bull baiting, and later as a working dog. Today they are beloved family companions and working dogs, combining impressive physical strength with a clownish personality and deep devotion to their families. Boxers are loyal, protective, and endlessly entertaining. Their expressive faces β wide-set eyes, wrinkled forehead, and pronounced underjaw β seem to convey every emotion with theatrical flair.

How to Groom a Boxer
The Boxer’s short, smooth coat is one of the easiest to maintain. Weekly brushing with a rubber grooming mitt removes loose hairs and keeps the coat gleaming. Bathing every eight to ten weeks, combined with a nail clip and ear clean, is adequate. Their facial wrinkles and the folds around their nose require regular cleaning to prevent moisture accumulation and skin fold infections. Their prominent eyes should be checked regularly. Despite being short-coated, Boxers can shed quite noticeably. Their natural cleanliness means they rarely have a strong doggy odour between baths.
