The Pharaoh Hound is one of the oldest domesticated dogs in recorded history β bearing a striking resemblance to depictions of Anubis in ancient Egyptian art and having been used to hunt rabbit on Malta for centuries. They are the national dog of Malta. Elegant, athletic, and remarkably distinctive, Pharaoh Hounds possess a unique trait β they blush when excited, their ears and nose flushing rose-pink. They are gentle, affectionate, and playful with their family, combining ancient grace with an endearing, sometimes clownish character.

How to Groom a Pharaoh Hound
The Pharaoh Hound’s short, fine coat requires very little maintenance. Weekly wiping with a rubber mitt or damp cloth keeps the coat in excellent condition. Bathing every eight to ten weeks is adequate. Professional grooming for a bath, nail clip, and ear clean every eight to ten weeks. Their thin coat and lean build means they are sensitive to cold and may benefit from a coat in winter.
